Our dedication to safety and reputation for quality and innovation help our customers reach beyond what they thought possible.All you have to do is get on board.CHC Helicopters is looking to appoint a suitably experienced Operations Officer, within its fixed base of operations in Broome, Western Australia.Reporting to Base Manager, the Operations officer is responsible for the coordination of the daily flying program, client liaison regarding flying schedule, flight crew roster administration, production of manifests and related documentation. This is a 12-month fixed term full-time position. Applicants must reside in the local Broome area, as this is not a touring position.Key Responsibilities

- Comply with all Company health, environmental safety and security, equal opportunity/sexual harassment policies and occupational health and safety procedures.
- Equip the Operations room with the necessary publications and other relevant information that is required to enable flight crews to conduct pre-flight planning.
- Complete a full check of the Ops room daily to ensure all required functions can be carried out. Check computer software and base radio facilities are serviceable prior to commencement of the daily flying program.
- Maintain Reception Area and/or Briefing Area to ensure safety and cleanliness standards are maintained.
- Deliver operational customer service as specified by CHC and the Base Manager including:
- Complete all operational reports/information as designated
- Complete the Daily Flying Program
- All flights and accommodation are in place for touring staff as per published rosters.
- Co-ordinate SAR and medevac responses in accordance with Company procedures with reference to local procedures and the ERP Manual.
- Ensure that flight crews are advised of their duty periods and any changes to their roster.
- AIMS data entry i.e. liaison with BM/SBE/SBP to facilitate timesheet data being entered each week.
- Ensure the operations and hand-over OPSO duty logs are recorded in an efficient manner and handed over to the oncoming Operations Officer.
- When on Standby Duty, be available to provide support in the event of a call out or event requiring urgent attention.
- Any other duties that may be delegated from time to time by the Base Manager.
- Experienced in a similar role is preferred but not essential.
- Strong organisational and time management skills.
- Competent computer skills especially with Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- The ability to work autonomously under general direction.
- Team oriented and ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- Demonstrate a positive, flexible and adaptable approach.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Aviation operational experience or experience in a similar role will be viewed favourably.
- Experienced and comfortable in dealing with different cultures and difficult situations.
