Liverpool Hospital is seeking a dedicated Nurse Unit Manager (Level 2) to lead our 30-bed 5B General Medicine Ward, where patient needs range from acute care to longer, more complex discharge planning. This is a high impact leadership role where you'll oversee all aspects of the unit ensuring safe, efficient, and culturally responsive care while guiding a multidisciplinary team toward positive health outcomes.In this ward, no two days are the same. You'll coordinate care for patients with diverse medical needs, working closely with the multidisciplinary team (MDT), NDIS providers, and community care workers to facilitate recovery and safe discharge. Your leadership will be pivotal in navigating hospital systems, managing resources, and fostering a culture of excellence.Key Responsibilities:
- Lead, direct, and coordinate patient care across the unit
- Ensure staff deliver safe, evidence-based, and compassionate care
- Manage human, financial, and physical resources effectively
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support complex discharge planning
- Promote quality improvement, risk management, and WHS compliance
- Handle performance and conflict resolution with professionalism and empathy
- Demonstrated senior nursing experience in a relevant setting
- Proven ability to lead teams and manage services in a complex care environment
- Strong communication and engagement skills with patients, carers, and MDTs
- Critical thinking and clinical decision-making expertise
- A personable, professional approach to team leadership and collaboration
- Commitment to continuous improvement and safe care delivery
