Our reputation has been built on the dedication and expertise of our staff. We offer a dynamic, diverse and inclusive working environment with opportunities to grow and develop careers. We believe that a progressive, thriving culture will ensure people choose to come, and stay at Deakin and contribute to our ongoing success.
As one of Australia's largest universities, Deakin has strong global linkages, world-class research and an education portfolio that blends the best of campus and digital delivery into a highly supportive and personalised student experience.
We offer outstanding education founded on the experience we create for our learners and guided by graduate outcomes for successful lives and careers. We undertake globally significant discovery research that benefits our communities through the innovative translation of our ideas into new services, products, policies and capabilities.
Deakin has invested heavily in teaching and research to create a high performing and entrepreneurial culture. The University Library plays a critical role in supporting Deakin's distinctive and pioneering education and research strategy.
We are now seeking an exceptional person to join us as our new University Librarian to continue our development of a future-oriented Library and our leadership in the innovative use of digital technology.
The University Library operates at five sites: four campus libraries and the Alfred Deakin Prime Ministerial Library, which curates the University's special collections, as well as supporting a large cohort of students who study wholly online.
Reporting to the Deputy Vice-Chancellor Education, the University Librarian will support the University community by ensuring that Deakin integrates digital and campus-based delivery, to deliver a premium and relevant educational experience for our students.
The University Librarian will also provide strategic guidance, a compelling vision and effective leadership for the Library, and advance the University's agenda as defined in Deakin's strategic plan, Deakin 2030 Ideas to Impact.
