The Student Finance Officer is responsible for billing accuracy and undertaking effective and prompt debtor management. In addition, the role will provide high quality, customer-focused administration and inquiry management with regard to student finances as part of the campus student services hub.This is a customer facing position and spans the total student lifecycle – from admissions through to student graduation, consistently delivering exceptional service quality.This is a Permanent, Full-time opportunity for a successful candidate located in Sydney, NSW. Due to the nature of this role, you are required to be on campus.Note: You must be located in Sydney to be successful in this role. You must hold full working rights in Australia. Sponsorship is not available for this role.Day-to-day accountabilities:Handle inbound phone and email enquiries from students relating to all aspects of student fees, including non-tuition revenue, refunds, discounts and scholarships in accordance with company policies.Develop, implement and improve processes in relation to student withdrawals / deferrals and the impact on their financial position.Undertake the reconciliation of international student deposits on a weekly basis & provide monthly reconciliation to the Head of Student Finance.Undertake financial checks when required.Invoicing and payments processing (including tuition, residential and other fees and charges) for all domestic and international students.Assist with FEE-HELP related functions and queries where required.To read more about the roleWho you arePrevious experience within the Higher Education industry is preferred.A background in finance or accounting is highly regarded but not essential.Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel.Excellent time management skills and ability to meet strict deadlines.The ability to function effectively in a fast-paced environment, functioning across multiple systems, sites with peak periods predicting workflow.The ability to work effectively as part of a team and take initiative.Proven ability to organise and prioritise workload.Why join us?Bold, modern and agile, we’re Australia’s fastest-growing university, going from 164 students in 2014 to 40,000+ alumni across 115+ countries and 2000+ staff today.
