SESLHD is committed to enabling our community to be healthy and well, and to providing the best possible compassionate care when people need it.The Research Assistant/Officer will provide operational, technical, and administrative support to research studies conducted within the Gastroenterology and Hepatology Department at St George Hospital in SESLHD. The role is responsible for supporting research project activities including ethics applications, data collection and entry, study coordination, stakeholder engagement as well as raising invoices and grant monitoring in order to ensure seamless flow of trial revenue. The position contributes to the quality and integrity of health and medical research and ensures compliance with governance and funding requirements.Our ideal candidate has a Good Clinical Practice (GCP) certification and proficient in the use of REDcap (Research Electronic Data Capture) database softwareBenefits

- Demonstrated knowledge and appreciation of the processes of health and medical research, including ethics and governance submissions, participant recruitment, and data collection
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as part of a team in performing a range of management and administrative tasks within allocated timeframe
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate with key stakeholders.
- Demonstrated excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to prepare research documentation, accurate reports, Newsletters, NHMRC reports, governance applications, and study materials
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible and adapt work practices to meet current and emerging business needs
- Current drivers licence (with a willingness to travel in accordance with the demands of the position
- Demonstrated ability to determine priorities for others and delegate tasks to achieve work objectives.
