Learn more about what Hall & Wilcox can offer you:About the role and teamWe have a new opportunity for an Energy and Resources Lawyer or Associate to join our Corporate and Commercial section in Perth.Our Corporate and Commercial section has over 65 members nationally, and is known for its energy, business insight and legal expertise – nationally and internationally. We give clients commercially focused legal advice on all aspects of corporate law and regulation affecting public and private companies, private equity firms and management teams. Our expertise spans mergers and acquisitions, equity capital markets, commercial contracting, compliance (including regulatory, corporate governance and directors’ duties), intellectual property, and privacy.This role will see the successful candidate work directly with a highly experienced and well-regarded Partner, and a team of corporate lawyers and Partners nationally.You will be involved in a variety of matters including:
  • mergers and acquisitions (M&A);
  • equity capital markets (ECM) transactions;
  • joint ventures, offtake and farm-ins;
  • regulatory, compliance and corporate governance advice; and
  • general commercial work.
About youYou will ideally have the following skills and experience:
  • 2 - 4 years’ of post-admission experience gained in a corporate and commercial law practice;
  • experience in the energy and resources sector, including a strong knowledge of relevant laws and regulations;
  • corporate/commercial law experience (including transaction document drafting and assisting with due diligences);
  • excellent analytical, problem-solving, research and communication skills
  • outstanding attention to detail;
  • a genuine passion for and interest in contributing to the growth and success of our corporate practice, both in Perth and nationally; and
  • a team-player who can also work autonomously, within a supportive and collaborative environment.
