- Oversee the structural scope for complex water infrastructure projects, including treatment plants and pump stations.
- Provide structural engineering input into winning proposals and engage in business development and client relations.
- Lead the development of innovative solutions through Digital Engineering and BIM-based interdisciplinary coordination.
- Actively pursue new business opportunities through client-focused practices and deliver exceptional service.
- Implement best practices in OHS&E and quality systems across all projects.
- Participate in technical reviews, design assessments, and engineering tasks related to water and wastewater infrastructure.
- Mentor junior engineers and graduates, sharing your technical expertise to support their professional growth.
- A Bachelor of Engineering degree (Structural or Civil).
- Typically 10-15 years of experience as a Structural Engineer, with at least 5 years specifically in the water industry.
- Registration as a RPEQ (Registered Professional Engineer of Queensland).
- Experience in conducting condition assessments.
- Strong experience in structural design, including reinforced concrete, structural steel, and water-retaining structures compliant with Australian Standards.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects from concept to detailed design while contributing to proposal writing and client meetings.
- Proven success in developing and maintaining client relationships with a focus on high levels of client satisfaction.
- Experience applying safety in design processes with a strong commitment to health, safety, and environmental best practices.
- Familiarity with legislation, standards, and project specifications relevant to water infrastructure projects.
- A desire to lead, mentor, and develop junior engineers to enhance the team's technical capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. This includes preparing clear and concise reports, proposals, and presentations, as well as engaging in productive client interactions and team collaborations.
