By joining our global team and learning from renowned subject matter experts, we can offer you a diverse career that could take you anywhere in the world.With a growing volume of studies and projects, Lycopodium Process Industries is currently recruiting for an Electrical Engineer to join our Engineering team in Melbourne.Reporting to the Engineering Manager and working in the Electrical team, you will share your design expertise on plant upgrades, new plants and conduct hazardous area assessments and plant auditing. This design work will involve working across several industries including pharmaceutical, health care, food, beverage, chemical, adhesives, paint, hydrocarbon, mining and automotive.The tasks you'll perform
  • Delivering electrical studies and design projects.
  • Coordinating electrical design activities with other engineering disciplines.
  • Sizing and specification of electrical power and lightning circuits and protection.
  • Contributing to the direction and review of electrical drafting including single lines, schematics, loop diagrams, hook-up drawings and panels.
  • Help drive construction activities, including site electrical installation and testing.
  • Critically contribute to commissioning documentation preparation and assistance with plant commissioning.
The expertise you'll bring
  • University Degree in Electrical Engineering or the equivalent from a recognised tertiary institution.
  • 5+ years post-graduate experience working within the industrial processes industry or on similar capital projects.
  • High Voltage capability & working knowledge of low voltage design and switchboard functionality.
  • Previous control and automation design experience.
  • Working knowledge of instrumentation.
  • Hold a Hazardous Area certificate by a registered RTO.
  • AS61511 Functional Safety awareness (preferably Qualified).
  • AS4024.1 Machine guarding working knowledge.
  • PLC/DCS configuration capability (not essential).
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritise to a high standard of accuracy and professionalism.
  • CPEng preferred but not essential.
