Together, we can harness potential to create a prosperous future.The OpportunityAs a Senior Payroll Officer, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate, efficient, and compliant payroll services that directly support our people across WesCEF. This is a hands-on role where you’ll manage the full payroll cycle end-to-end, from interpreting time and attendance data and preparing payroll system finalisation, right through to banking, payroll clearing, and Single Touch Payroll reconciliation.You’ll be trusted to oversee complex payroll processes, ensure compliance with legislative and industrial requirements, and take ownership of end-of-month reporting and reconciliations. Beyond the technical delivery, this role also provides the opportunity to mentor payroll team members, contribute to system improvements, and work on initiatives that enhance the overall employee experience.As a Senior Payroll Officer, you will be responsible for:
  • Running payroll end-to-end, including payroll system finalisation through to banking, payroll clearing, and Single Touch Payroll (STP) reconciliation.
  • Managing time & attendance data integration and interpretation, ensuring accurate flow of information into payroll systems.
  • Leading payroll compliance activities including PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, and end-of-month reconciliations.
  • Providing guidance and subject matter expertise to payroll team members, leaders, and employees.
  • Supporting system upgrades, process improvements, and payroll-related projects to drive efficiency and accuracy.
  • Building strong relationships across the business to deliver high-quality payroll services.
About YouWe are looking for someone who can bring both technical expertise and a collaborative mindset. The ideal candidate will have:
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience managing end-to-end payroll in a medium to large organisation.
  • Strong working knowledge of payroll legislation, taxation, and compliance requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with payroll system finalisation, banking processes, payroll clearing, and STP reporting/reconciliation.
  • Experience with time & attendance (T&A) data integration, interpretation, and end-of-month processes.
  • High attention to detail with the ability to resolve complex payroll queries.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to coach and mentor others.
  • Proficiency in payroll systems such as Chris21, SAP, SuccessFactors, or similar enterprise platforms.
