The OpportunityReporting to Dr Emma Watson (ARC DECRA Fellow and Senior Lecturer in the Medicinal Chemistry Theme), the focus of this role will be to contribute to the for the development of therapeutic biomolecules. You will work as part of a team using cutting edge synthetic techniques to develop safer drug targeting systems based on templated chemical reactions.As a research fellow in the Watson group, you will be responsible for the chemical synthesis of large biomolecules, including peptides, proteins and peptide nucleic acids (PNA). This will combine skills in both solution-phase and solid-phase synthetic techniques, as well as purification and characterisation. You will also act as a mentor to postgraduate research students in the group and contribute to the preparation of manuscripts stemming from your work.If you have a PhD in organic chemistry, ideally with a background in protein chemistry or chemical biology you might be the ideal fit for our team.About Monash UniversityAt , work feels different.
