Multiple casual positions on offer:

All Cleaner shifts starting between 7am - 9am
FSA - morning shifts starting between 7am - 8.30am
FSA - afternoon shifts starting between 3pm - 4.30pm

Our Care Support Team fills various shifts in our 16 high quality aged care homes across South Australia. We are currently seeking Food Services Assistants/Cleaners who can support our dedicated care teams across our South Australian sites.In these roles, we offer you the flexibility to achieve your ideal work-life balance, as well as all the benefits of working for a major non-for-profit organisation.About the roleYou will be required to work as part of a cohesive team by undertaking either general cleaning and/or catering duties for the provision of high quality catering and housekeeping services, which is vital to the health and well-being of our residents, visitors and staff.Daily duties in these roles include but are not limited to;

dusting and polishing of furniture
mopping, sweeping and vacuuming of floors, removal of rubbish
cleaning bathrooms and toilets
Listening with empathy to residents and their representatives about cleaning

requests and reporting to the Supervisor any requests that cannot be immediately actioned * assisting in the preparation, cooking, distribution and serving of all types of meals principally for residents but also for visitors, staff and for functions

observing food safety, HACCP, quality and hygiene standards as well as adhering to SCC policies and procedures
maintaining accurate relevant catering records including the monitoring

and recording of food temperatures * reporting any feedback from residents’ on their satisfaction or otherwisefor meals providedFor further details regarding the scope of these two roles, please refer to our website or the attached position descriptions.About youWith adequate communication skills and a good level of English literacy, you will able to read written instructions and speak in a manner that older people can understand.You must have good time management skills to manage your workload without direct supervision in order to complete tasks within the allocated time.All applicants must have previous experience in a cleaning or food handling role.A basic understanding of the requirements to support residents living with dementia including those who display challenging behaviours and a basic knowledge of the requirements of the Aged Care Standards will be highly regarded.About usSouthern Cross Care is one of Australia’s leading charitable aged care and retirement living service providers.
