Find out more and .Your OpportunityMission Australia Housing provides social and affordable housing to vulnerable Australians ensuring they have access to good quality housing that enables people to participate in their communitiesWe are seeking an experienced and motivated Operations Document Specialist who can turn complex requirements into clear, practical, and accessible operational content that drives quality service delivery across our housing programs. This role ensures that all content aligns with organisational standards, housing sector regulations, and relevant legislation, including social housing compliance frameworks, working closely with teams across tenancy management, asset management, customer service, and community development.This role will perform under general directions in functions that require the application of skills and knowledge appropriate to the work.Your key responsibilities will be to:
  • Write, edit and maintain policies, procedures, and guides that are easy to understand and put into practice
  • Ensure documentation aligns with housing sector regulations, social housing frameworks and organisational standards
  • Manage content across systems to ensure easy accessibility to staff
  • Work closely with tenancy, asset management, customer service and community development team, as well as subject matter experts across policy, legal, compliance and marketing
  • Translate complex policies into simple tools like quick reference guides to build staff confidence and service consistency
  • Champion best practice in documentation and knowledge management, ensuring contents evolve with sector needs
  • Undertake a wide range of activities which may require the employee to exercise judgment and/or contribute critical knowledge and skills where procedures are not clearly defined.
Requirements for Success
  • Relevant degree with 1 to 2 years' of experience in a similar role
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills with ability to communicate complex information in simple plain English
  • Experience in document creation tools and platforms like Microsoft Office, Adobe, SharePoint, Canva etc.
  • Knowledge of content governance, compliance frameworks and housing or community services
  • Proficiency in using content or knowledge management systems (e.g., SharePoint or similar platforms) to create, manage, and maintain operational documentation that supports consistent service delivery across housing teams.
  • Proven ability to manage information systems and make content accessible and user friendly
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, with confidence to work across diverse teams and subject matter areas
  • A continuous improvement mindset and willingness to innovate
