This role is responsible for supporting the Chief Radiographer with the day-to-day management of the Medical Imaging Department, including managing strong relationships with radiologists. As part of the senior management team the role will also be fundamental to the development and implementation of standardised operational and business rules for the Medical Imaging Department. The Assistant Chief Radiographer will have a leadership role in progressing an integrated continuing professional development and quality program relevant to their professional requirements and recognised Accreditation programs.People of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander background are encouraged to apply.Candidates will need to meet the following criteria:
- Current AHPRA registration to work as a Radiographer, with the MRPB of Australia and current EPA I-14 Radiation Licence, with recent clinical experience . Post graduate studies relevant to the position.
- Demonstrated experience in the management of a multimodality imaging department and knowledge of RANZCR Accreditation guidelines and ACHS as related to accreditation of Imaging Departments.
- Evidence of well-developed and empowering leadership skills, motivation and advocacy with sound ability in conflict resolution and staff performance management, with flexible, empathic and perceptive interpersonal and staff liaison skills
- Well developed written and verbal communication skills, with exceptional team building expertise, liaison and negotiation skills and ability and experience in applying change management strategies.
- Competence in financial management to demonstrate service provision is delivered in an efficient and effective manner, including the use of radiology information systems to inform decision.
- Strong commitment to meeting customer requirements, including clinical and DoH/AHS political priorities, in balance with best practice quality standards and control.
- Strong Computer literacy with Microsoft Office applications, Incident Management System, Human Resource & Financial management applications, computerised rostering systems and Radiology Information Systems and Pacs, Recruitment and Onboarding or equivalent.
