As the Team Leader – Patient Accounts, you will facilitate the management of consumer money and property within the guidelines of West Moreton Patient Consumer and Money Property Guide.A typical day will see you:
- Ensure effective internal control systems meet audit requirements and relevant government legislation and regulations, including end of month procedures, accruals, reconciliations, receipting, refunds, management, and production of relevant reports
- Promote activities designed to increase patient and staff awareness of own source revenue and the management of revenue collection and financial accounting processes in relation to patient fees and charges, sundry debtors, and patient trust funds including comprehensive account notes in relation to outstanding balances, evidence-based follow-up activity, reconciliation of financial accounting records, validation of fees and charges.
- Provide guidance and training to Revenue team members in the achievement of work unit objectives and development of effective administrative systems and processes and review on an ongoing basis.
- Contribute to a high performing team.
- Sound knowledge of accounting policies, procedures and practices, and high level of skills and ability in applying this knowledge, including ability to interpret legislative and policy requirements, perform reconciliations and maintain appropriate internal controls.
- Well-developed computer skills for spread sheeting, word processing and database applications, including financial and patient information systems, with the ability to apply these skills in the extraction and preparation of data for reporting.
- High level communication skills with the ability to negotiate and consult with clients, staff, and external organisations, and effectively deal with demanding situations.
- Ability to supervise and coordinate staff successfully and in line with quality human resource management practices.
