- Data Architecture & Strategy
- Design enterprise-level data models, migration strategies, and data integration architectures for legacy and modern systems (e.g., Azure Dynamics 365).
- Lead the design and development of data lakes, staging layers, and consolidated data stores.
- Define and implement data governance, metadata management, and standardisation practices.
- ETL Development & Data Migration
- Build and maintain robust ETL frameworks using SSIS, Azure Data Factory, and SQL.
- Perform complex data mapping, cleansing, and transformation across on-premise and cloud environments.
- Manage delta and full load processes to support agile software development and testing.
- Analytics Enablement
- Support and develop Qlik Sense applications for business intelligence and geo-analytics.
- Design and implement data models, QVD generators, and dashboards to support self-service analytics.
- Integrate external data sources (e.g., ABS Census, AGIS, SAP) into analytics platforms.
- Systems Integration
- Collaborate with business analysts and developers to reverse engineer and integrate legacy systems.
- Manage data flows between SQL databases, Azure resources, APIs, and Microsoft Dynamics 365 platforms.
- Project Leadership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Lead data-focused workstreams within cross-functional teams using DevOps and Agile practices.
- Work with internal stakeholders and external vendors to align data architecture with enterprise objectives.
- Support UAT, production release planning, and post-implementation troubleshooting.
- Minimum 25 years' experience in IT, with at least 15+ years in data architecture and migration.
- Strong expertise in Microsoft Azure, Dynamics 365, Azure Data Factory, SQL Server, and SSIS.
- Proven track record of delivering large-scale data migration projects across government and enterprise sectors.
- Deep understanding of data modelling, ETL processes, data warehousing, and enterprise reporting.
- Experience in Qlik Sense, Qlik Geo-Analytics, and Qlik NPrinting for self-service BI and spatial analytics.
- Skilled in reverse engineering legacy systems, data cleansing, and standardisation for analytics readiness.
- Demonstrated capability in DevOps, Visual Studio, and pipeline automation.
- Experience with geospatial data integration and use of tools such as Google Geocoding API, AGIS, and ABS datasets.
- Bachelor of Applied Science in Computing (QUT, Brisbane) or equivalent tertiary qualification.
- Experience working with federal or state government departments.
- Recognition through industry or internal awards for excellence or innovation in IT.
- Familiarity with SharePoint, SAP, and other ERP/CRM systems is a plus.
- Strong analytical mindset and attention to detail.
- Ability to simplify complex data structures for business stakeholders.
