Our proven project teams readily address complex and multi-disciplinary activities, providing low-risk and cost-effective solutions to the Defence force.Learn more about our business .The RoleThe Senior Scheduler role will support the MITSS team located in Canberra and provide a wide range of scheduling capabilities. The scheduler will assist the MITSS Managers reporting to them with the development of project milestones, project controls measures, assist with coordinating procurement and materials where required and contribute to forecasting and schedule anaysis tasks.ResponsibilitiesTo be successful in this role, you will be able to:SchedulingWhen working within a project engage effectively with project stakeholders to enable development of realistic project schedules and prepare project schedules using provided scheduling tools,When working at the Portfolio level provide direct support to project managers by ensuring consistency in project schedule creation, management and advice,Assist projects with development of detailed work breakdown structures including WBS dictionaries, linking with KBR Finance to ensure alignment with SAP project establishment protocols.Provide guidance to project managers/controllers on the establishment of project estimation processes, implementing processes that enable management visibility of effectiveness/accuracy.Establish processes to enable management visibility of project performance with respect to accuracy of resource allocation, resource demand forecasts and resource utilisation down to the level of individual resourcesAssist projects with development of project risk registers, providing coordinated reporting of risks to the Account Director.Project ControlsProvide direct support to the Project Manager with all aspects of Portfolio accounting and controls, including development of procedures that enable standardization of project controls processes across portfolio projectsAssist with the implementation and standardisation of project controls processes within projects, providing mentoring and guidance as requiredEstablish and report on cost performance for the project with respect to cost and JI trends,Support development and review of proposal cost build up and pricing submissions for proposals, including Bid Estimators.Assist with Proposal to Project transition / set up and implementation.Other reasonable tasks as assigned by Acct Director Aerospace & Joint ISS relevant to this appointment, skill set and experience.Ensure a safe and healthy work environmentQualifications and Experience:Tertiary qualifications in Project Management, accounting or related disciplines preferredExperience in project scheduling and project controls including EVMExperience planning and implementing project controls proceduresExperience performing as a Project Manager would be an advantageAdvanced skills in project scheduling and reporting software packages including Microsoft Project and Open Plan ProfessionalExperience in the use of accounting and spreadsheet packagesWorking knowledge of ASDEFCON Contracting framework (above and/or below the line)Defence Industry and CASG experienceSecurity clearance NV1 or NV2KBR’s commitment to Zero Harm means that we are dedicated to improving the health and wellbeing of our staff and the communities we operate in.
