Australian Citizen or PRAbout the Role
Seeking an experienced and motivated Magazine Editor to lead the end-to-end production of a respected industry magazine, published every two months in both print and digital formats. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of an established publication and shape its editorial direction while expanding its online presence and audience engagement.
The successful candidate must be confident managing the full editorial lifecycle — from planning and commissioning content, to overseeing design, print production and distribution. You’ll also be responsible for growing the publication’s reach and reputation through strategic content development and stakeholder engagement.Key Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and deliver a high-quality bi-monthly magazine (every two months)
- Manage editorial calendars in line with industry trends, key events, and campaign priorities
- Develop and grow the magazine’s digital presence and subscriber base
- Commission, edit, and review content from a range of internal and external contributors
- Collaborate with graphic designers and printers to ensure production runs smoothly and to deadline
- Build and maintain productive relationships with writers, suppliers, and stakeholders
- Track and report on engagement metrics for both print and online platforms
- Proven experience pulling together an entire publication
- Strong background in journalism, communications, or publishing
- Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a news-style tone
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple deadlines
- Experience in both print production and digital publishing
- High attention to detail and quality control across all stages of production
- Experience building relationships with contributors, vendors, and media professionals
- Interest or experience in the healthcare sector is desirable
