Design Assistant

- Set up tech pack files in advance of season.
- Assist with the sketching of stylised and technical products in Adobe Illustrator, set up and maintain season-to-date sketch boards.
- Work through and assist in briefing tech packs as required and chase proto samples
- Manage supplier Lab-Dip requests and pass DHL over to Administration Assistant for sending.
- Manage style files including initial set-up and maintenance
- Work in D-365 as needed to set up product lifecycle information for each style and raise orders if required.
- Sketch new styles that are added in after buy meetings and throughout the season
- Prepare for range meetings and buy meetings, ensure samples, image references and mood board are ready as well as checking style files for correct information.
- Participate in weekly production meetings with relevant information on hand.
- Liaise with Designer/Buyer on costs, approvals, and comments to ensure company quality and standard is met.
- Facilitate approval of care instructions and swing tickets with Administration Assistant.
- Organise samples in a safe way – maintain and pack up samples for sample sale and maintain library of previous range samples.
- On-site in St Kilda Rd offices 5 days per week.
- 1-2 years’ experience in a Design or Buying Assistant role or similar
- Prior Footwear experience (preferred)
- Proficient in Adobe Suite, particularly Illustrator and Photoshop
- A relevant tertiary or equivalent qualification
- Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word & Excel)
- Demonstrated hand sketching ability.
- Understanding of graphic textile print also desirable.
- Ability to work in fast paced environment and manage time effectively.
- Must be able to demonstrate the ability to work well under pressure.
