- Assist in the provision of care and support of patients within the scope of Assistant in Nursing practice, professional expertise and recognised competencies by undertaking the following non-exhaustive methods if required:
- gathering information about patient care needs through observation and notification to the senior clinical staff of identified changes in the health and functional status of patients promptly;
- undertaking observations and assessments;
- following the direction and delegation of the appropriate senior clinical staff member;
- assisting with the patient's hygiene, appearance and dietary consumption needs; and maintain a safe, sanitary and secure environment for patients.
- Desirable 3rd year Bachelor of Nursing/Midwifery student with first clinical placement completed (minimum 2nd year completed)
- Or an appropriate certification as an assistant in nursing - Certificate III in Health Services Assistance or working towards same
- Digital and computer proficiency, extending to Microsoft 365 applications
- Demonstrated ability to work well within a multidisciplinary team
