
Senior Landscape Assessment Officer

- Permanent full time position – 35 hours per week

- Undertake detailed landscape and tree assessments for development applications
- Prepare clear, concise, and legally robust reports and recommendations
- Provide expert advice to internal departments, applicants, and the public
- Investigate complaints and non-compliant works, and recommend mitigating measures
- Represent Council at Planning Panels, on-site inspections, and Land & Environment Court proceedings as required
- Ensure compliance with Council’s Environmental Management System Policy and Corporate Standards & Procedures on environmental management practices
- Mentor and support junior team members, contributing to a high-performing, collaborative team environment
- Tertiary qualifications in Landscape Architecture or equivalent
- Current Class C Driver’s Licence
- OHS General Induction (White Card) for construction work in NSW
- 3–5 years of professional experience in development assessment and analysis
- Substantial experience in landscape architecture, urban design, and arboriculture
- In-depth knowledge of NSW planning legislation and local government frameworks
- Strong understanding of environmental management principles
- High-level written and verbal communication, including report writing and customer interaction
- Excellent negotiation and conflict resolution abilities
- 35 hour working week
