Tasmania's Cradle Coast Region is home to iconic species, natural landscapes and Tasmania's Wilderness World Heritage Area. There are 20 diverse river catchments, fertile and productive agricultural land, and rich and extensive Aboriginal cultural landscapes.As one of three natural resource management (NRM) organisations in Tasmania (and 54 in Australia), the role of Cradle Coast NRM is to protect, sustainably manage and improve natural resources by actively working with communities to ensure a healthy future for the region. Our work is guided by our 2030 NRM Strategy for Cradle Coast Tasmania and incorporates Biodiversity-themed action to protect and maintain the region's high-value habitat for threatened species, important biodiversity areas and ecological communities.We are currently recruiting for a Regional Weeds Coordinator to coordinate and deliver a range of initiatives focused on priority weeds of the Cradle Coast region, as part of the Cradle Coast Priority Weeds Project. This includes to:
  • Identify, engage and consult with relevant stakeholders, including the delivery of engagement activities, to identify, manage and control priority weeds and contribute to weed management planning in the region.
  • Coordinate, develop and deliver a Regional Weeds Strategy for the Cradle Coast region.
  • Procure appropriate expertise to investigate and analyse a model / system for capturing weed data in the region.
  • Deliver on-ground works and / or weed management plans across a range of properties / land tenures targeting regional priority weeds.
