We wouldn't be able to continually improve and grow as a company without our diverse and exceptional team.What we are looking for:We are looking to hire a Financial Accountant for a 6 months fixed term contract. The primary role of the Financial Accountant will be to ensure that the financial information of MONEYME is complete and accurate. This is achieved through timely execution of financial accounting and reporting activities, implementing strong controls, and undertaking regular analytical reviews. The role will collaborate with senior Finance leaders to achieve month end and transactional accounting targets and also function to support recurring operational tasks. You will work closely with all departments within the business and must be comfortable in building strong relationships with external stakeholders.You will need to have had at least 4-6 years of relevant accounting experience. You will play a key role in ensuring that MONEYME maintains robust Financial Controls, including meeting its Financial Reporting and Tax Compliance related requirements.Responsibilities for this position include:
  • Strong understanding of accounts payable, payroll and credit card processes and systems.
  • Strong understanding of financial resource management and MONEYME funding requirements.
  • Maintains comprehensive knowledge of product and current promotional offers.
  • Ownership of the Group's key accounting policies and papers.
  • Sound understanding and preparation of monthly tax compliance tasks (BAS/GST, payroll tax and FBT) and annual tax compliance/advisory (deferred taxes, due diligence, tax governance).
  • Seeks to implement efficiencies in NetSuite and gets buy-in from internal teams for efficiency plays.
  • Mentoring of more junior staff members within the Finance team.
  • Contributes positively to the MONEYME culture and acts in accordance with MONEYME's values.
To be successful in this role you must have the following:
  • Previous knowledge and experience in month end processes and accounting adjustments, including accruals and prepayments
  • Analytical skills and the ability to identify and understand variances and trends
  • A sound understanding of tax compliance requirements, from Income Tax to GST to FBT
  • A robust understanding of accounting standards and experience completing Financial Reports
  • Experience managing external audit processes
  • Knowledge and experience with the local financial services regulatory environment such as APRA and ASIC requirements
  • Experience in working with large volumes of data to interrogate and manipulate information to deliver insights
