You are an experienced ICT leader responsible for managing staff, contractors, and technology services to support Council’s operations. You oversee the delivery of the ICT Strategic Plan and key initiatives, ensuring they align with Council goals, are completed on time, and within budget. As the senior member of the Technology Services team, you provide advanced technical guidance and act as the main escalation point for support teams. You manage service delivery to meet SLAs, ensure business continuity, and maintain compliance, security governance and risk management. You also monitor performance, drive improvements, and maintain positive team and stakeholder relationships.The TeamThe Information Communication and Technology (ICT) team enables our people to deliver value through efficient and innovative ICT services. This is achieved through providing strategic advice and effective management of the Technology Services team.
  • This is a permanent full-time position based in the Toowoomba CBD.
  • The annual salary range for this position is $123,226.69 - $138,941.51 gross per annum, plus 17.5% annual leave loading and up to 12.65% superannuation.

How to be successful in this position
  • Possession of a recognised tertiary qualification in computer science or related information technology qualifications, or extensive relevant experience.
  • Experience in managing technology resources to meet a variety of needs in a large diverse organisation.
  • Detailed knowledge of and experience in the architecture and design of technology to meet the needs of a large organisation.
  • Ability and experience in evaluating data and analytics to assess the efficacy of technology systems, identify improvements and provide specialist technical advice.
  • Proven ability to manage a technology services work area and specialist team.
  • Proven ability to manage the delivery of strategic plans and operational initiatives.
  • Excellent stakeholder and change management skills.
  • Effective communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills.
  • Commitment to teamwork and a positive team culture.
