If you require any assistance with your application or have any questions about this position, please get in touch with the contact person listed in this advertisement.About the opportunityThe role is based in Lachlan Health Service across Parkes and Forbes and will be clinically responsible for conducting both inpatient and outpatient obstetric services; participating in the on-call obstetrics rosters; and providing medical leadership to the Lachlan Health Service Midwifery Group Practice model of care.Parkes and Forbes are 30 kms apart and sit about 100 kms from the nearest regional centre, Orange. Both towns are well connected to good solid infrastructure with 15,000 and 10,000 populations respectively. Both LGA Councils offer great websites to inspire and inform people who might wish to relocate or visit the towns. For further info click on | or | and also the .Lachlan Maternity Services – Forbes and Parkes Procedural Hospitals birth approx. 300 women on average per annum and provide ante-natal, post-natal and intrapartum care. The service provides outreach clinics to surrounding towns. - Fellowship of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners and/or Fellowship of the Australian College of Rural and Remote Medicine and/or Vocational Recognition as a General Practitioner.
- Significant GP Obstetric skills and experience with successful completion of training statement from the Royal Australasian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists and current CPD in line with JCCOG requirements including attainment of Diploma of the Royal Australian and New Zealand College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists (Advanced).
- Minimum three (3) years post graduate clinical experience. Previous experience in Emergency Medicine, General Practice, Adult Internal Medicine, Paediatrics or Rural Medicine an advantage.
- Sound knowledge of and commitment to clinical quality and patient safety, work health and safety, working within NSW Health Policy and current clinical practice guidelines.
- Knowledge of contemporary clinical management and modern approaches in assessment and management of the broad range of acute and chronic medical conditions. Competence in performing the range of procedures commonly undertaken in a rural emergency department.
- An understanding of patient centred care and demonstrated ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a multi-disciplinary team including demonstration of NSW Health CORE values in delivering safe and high quality care.
