Peak Periods and Holidays (Nov-Jan) up to 5 a week.So, what does a day in the life of a Customer Delivery Driver look like?As a member of our Airside team, you are the face of dnata catering out on the tarmac and are responsible for the very important task of correctly loading catering onto the aircraft. To do this, you need to load fully stocked aircraft trolleys onto our hi-lift trucks and drive a short distance to the aircraft.Once airside, you will guide the vehicle for safe approach, load the carts onto the aircraft, and work with the airline cabin crew to make sure everything is correct. You will also remove any empty carts, before heading back to our catering facility.In a nutshell, your main responsibilities are:
- Short distance driving and basic vehicle safety checks, including re-fueling.
- Safely load and unload trucks and aircraft with catering, equipment, carts and ovens, ensuring any discrepancies are followed up on.
- Guide and position the trucks safely in line with Company, Airport, and Airline policies.
- As the face of our business, you will communicate and coordinate with Airline cabin crew for aircraft servicing and delivery hand over.
- Follow instructions as given to you by your Trainer, Shift Supervisor or Dept Head.
- Administrative documentation, shift reports and general cleaning duties as required.
- Must hold a clean valid MR or HR Driver’s License (min 1 year of driving)
- Be relatively fit and active. Ability to perform frequent manual handling tasks.
- Flexibility working around flight schedules is essential.
- Good verbal and written communication skills.
- 20/20 vision and sound hearing is vital for this role as you will be on the tarmac.
- Neat and tidy presentation, well spoken.
- As you will be working in the Aviation sector, a cleared National Police Check is required (at our cost).
