This exciting and fast paced role will see you be responsible for effectively supporting the contract manager in the Operational service delivery of contracts with Australian Border Force to provide Port Services in Defence and Government, specifically managing the day-to-day Facility management activities including overseeing Maintenance of the Berthing Facility located at Darwin East Arm wharf as well as other operational coordination aspects within the scope of these contracts.
Reporting directly to the Contract Manager, the Marine Facility Cooridnator will provide a high level of skill in regard to the maintenance operations and administrative functions of the contract. In addition to ensuring the site is maintained in a clean and fit-for-purpose condition to meet Department Operational requirements.Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer, manage, and maintain the site, conducting assessments and executing repairs or replacements in line with the FMP
  • Liaise with customers, sub-contractors, suppliers, and the Department staff nationally to meet all contract terms
  • Ensure timely scheduled maintenance, repairs, and replacements to avoid service failure and resultant costs
  • Undertake operational activities including vessel bunkering in accordance with SOP’s
  • Plan, coordinate, and manage schedules and tasks to ensure project delivery within allotted budget and timelines
  • Ensure compliance with company quality management systems, policies, and procedures
  • Attend to customer queries in a timely manner
  • Ensure safe work procedures are developed and regularly reviewed for high-risk tasks
  • Engage and make recommendation with management and health and safety consultation groups regarding health and safety matters
Qualifications:
  • Well-developed organizational and computer skills
  • Prior experience within management of the maritime industry would be an advantage
  • Previous experience in facilities management would be an advantage
  • Results orientation – commits to ensuring timelines are achieved
  • Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
  • Ability to negotiate successful outcomes with suppliers
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective support and rapport with personnel at all levels
