DISCO provides robust tools for file and catalog management, metadata tagging, EPK creation, listener analytics, and secure sharing, empowering professionals to maintain creative control while maximizing their reach and efficiency.The RoleDISCO is looking for a seasoned engineering leader who is passionate about building high performance engineering teams to join DISCO as our Head of Engineering. We’re looking for a strategic thinker who is passionate about the product, our customers and the problem we’re solving. We’re looking for a leader who drives technical excellence and fosters innovation, who’ll lead our engineering team to deliver high-quality products that support the company’s vision and mission.ResponsibilitiesReporting directly to our COO, you will:
  • Directly supervise engineering managers and, initially, some engineers
  • Partner with our People team to attract and engage top talent
  • Foster an engaged, collaborative, ambitious, and outcome-driven culture
  • Provide continuous feedback, address underperformance, and recognize the individual strengths and contributions of your team members
  • Be responsible for high quality and high velocity execution of the engineering org
  • Identify, evaluate, and optimize processes to maximize efficiency
  • Unblock and push the team to hit deadlines
  • Anticipate strategic and scaling-related challenges and collaborate with the team to find the best scalable solutions
  • Collaborate successfully with cross functional partners including product, support and GTM
  • Assist the GTM org in landing and serving our biggest customers
  • Partner with product on delivering solutions to our customers that keep DISCO ahead of our competitors
  • Understand the music tech landscape and its trends, and help us make the right calls on buy/build/partner
RequirementsWe’re looking for someone who:
  • Is a proven leader who has successfully taken high-performance engineering teams through the scaling period DISCO is in (company size 70-100+, engineering team 20-40+)
  • Has a strong record of hiring and developing great, diverse talent
  • Has 7+ years of engineering leadership experience, including experience overseeing an engineering org of 20+
  • Is comfortable operating in an environment where you need to motivate teams by working both with managers and directly with engineers
  • Has successfully managed hybrid and remote teams working across multiple time zones
  • Has 3+ years of experience overseeing the development of AI/ML products with successful outcomes
  • Has experience delivering and maintaining B2B web apps, with some consumer-facing product experience preferred
  • Has a strong sense of urgency to deliver results and inspire the team to achieve beyond what they think is possible
  • Has a strong sense of ownership and accountability
  • Has strong architectural experience
  • Is enthusiastic about diving into the code and getting their hands dirty when needed
  • Has strong technical mastery in software engineering but remains curious and committed to learning and improving their craft
