The Company
Concentis is partnering with Gladstone Regional Council (GRC) to source a Principal Civil Engineer for the Engineering, Assets Solutions team. Reporting to the Manager, Engineering Assets Solutions, the Principal Civil Engineer, plays a critical role in designing long-term asset solutions that ensure performance, cost and community outcomes are achieved. You will lead investigations and designs that help shape the regions infrastructure.
  • Lead the development of civil design solutions, including investigations, concept and detailed designs, specifications and cost estimates ensuring compliance with engineering standards
  • Manage and coordinate external Consultants where required to meet project milestones, budget expectations and project deliverables
  • Review, approve and sign off on design drawings, technical documents and cost estimates
  • Maintain positive relationships with various stakeholders both inside and outside the Council
  • Support annual program development and budget planning for design and investigation activities
  • Mentor and support engineering and technical staff, encouraging professional development and upholding design standards within the team
About You:
  • Bachelor Degree in Business (or related discipline)
  • Registered Professional Engineers of Queensland (RPEQ) accreditation
  • Proven experience in civil design and infrastructure investigations
  • Strong communication, negotiation and report writing skills
  • Experience engaging with contractors, consultations and other various stakeholders
  • Experience in the application of Engineering Design Guidelines (Austroads and Water Services Association of Australia)
  • Ability to lead, mentor and support technical staff
