- Development of compliance plan with electrical contracting requirements in each State nationally.
- Ensure that the Registered Electrical licenses are current in each State and Territory that GE Renewable Energy Australia PTY LTD conducts electrical work in.
- Oversee and manage the High Voltage safety procedures across the services and project sites.
- Hold Electrical License “Business Manager” & “Technical Supervisor High Voltage operating authority for the business across Australia and comply with “Act’s, Regulations Electrical (Safety) Regulations (General) & Standards.
- Verification of Competency programs.
- Oversee the development and implementation of electrical safety procedures and operational switching procedures at each wind farm site.
- Develop and maintain electrical training program including LOTO support inclusive of LOTO taskforce involvement within APAC
- Support regional EHS team to develop and maintain audit program for all safety, training, operational and maintenance of electrical equipment carried out by employees, direct contractors, and subcontractors
- Review ALL Electrical contractor’s licenses are current & for the State they intend to work in.
- Support implementation of “Isolation Schedules” “Lock Boxes” “HV Permitting” “HV Operations”
- Institute an electrical testing program on all electrical infrastructure in consultation with the engineering team
- Provide support and advice to operations teams in operations and maintenance of electrical infrastructure.
- Review scopes of work for electrical maintenance contractors including auditing of performance.
- Implement testing and commissioning programs that have been designed by engineering
- Provide technical advice, audits and compliance, commissioning and installation of HV products and electrical systems.
- Australian electrical License – A grade
- Experienced HV operator within date training
- HV and LV operations experience
- Switching experience
- Permit recipient and work control experience
- Procedural development experience
- Experience with network operating authorities and their procedures with possible training requirements
- Knowledge of installation and commissioning best practices
- Willing to train mentor others as applicable and manage a small team
- Knowledge of contracting and nominee requirements with option to hold position
- Substation commissioning, operations and maintenance background desirable
- Relevant experience in generation and transmission power industry
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to liaise with diverse teams and stakeholders.
- Safety-focused mindset with a comprehensive understanding of industry safety standards and protocols.
- Flexibility to travel and work on-site at various project/operation locations as required.
- Must have intermediate level in computer skills (MS OFFICE).
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Valid Australian Drivers license
- Previous GE WTG experience desirable.
