Lead a high-performing Mechanical Design team and drive innovation across diverse engineering projects!We’re seeking an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer Manager to lead and develop a team of engineers, delivering high-quality, innovative solutions from concept through to completion. This role is full-time and based in Meadowbrook, where you’ll play a critical part in shaping design strategies, mentoring staff, and ensuring projects are delivered to scope, budget, and schedule.Who will you be working with?

Working closely with production, electrical, fabrication, procurement, and business development teams, you’ll ensure design solutions align with customer requirements, Australian Standards, and company goals.What are the benefits?

What will you be doing?

Leading and managing the Mechanical Design Engineering team
Setting strategic objectives in collaboration with senior leadership
Acting as the main contact for all mechanical engineering projects
Overseeing design projects from concept to completion within scope, budget, and deadlines
Providing technical expertise on complex design challenges, including FEA and system integration
Ensuring compliance with customer requirements, Australian Standards, and internal quality processes
Recruiting, training, mentoring, and conducting performance reviews for the design team
Driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness
Collaborating across departments and engaging in customer and vendor discussions

What do you need?

Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (postgraduate or leadership training preferred)
5+ years’ experience in mechanical design with at least 2 years in a leadership role
Proficiency in 3D CAD (AutoCAD Inventor preferred), FEA software, and project management tools
Strong knowledge of Australian engineering standards and regulatory requirements
Exceptional leadership, mentoring, and team management skills
Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making ability
High level of organisation, accuracy, and attention to detail
