  • The Hospital Assistant role provides support to the nursing team in the delivery of patient care as directed by nursing staff, general assistance in wards, cleaning duties and portering for patient transfers around the facility.
  • Undertake a range of cleaning duties as outlined in a daily schedule, including high level cleaning, outside cleaning, stripping and/or sealing floors, cleaning tooth and vomit bowls and sanitising bed pans and other equipment, to ensure the patient and hospital environment remains clean, safe and attractive.
  • Provide general assistance in the ward/ facility including moving heavy equipment, making unoccupied beds and loading/ unloading commercial-type washing machines, to ensure the smooth running of the facility.

To be considered for this position, please ensure you address the selection criteria in the application as thoroughly as possible:
  • Previous experience working in a company or organisation undertaking commercial cleaning or providing general assistance or a similar role.
  • Food Safety Certificate or willingness to undertake within six months of employment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently with minimal direct supervision.
  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team and take directions from supervisor.
  • Ability and willingness to work shifts, on a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
