Ready to join a supportive, innovative and highly respected team? The Hospital is Tasmania’s largest tertiary referral centre, is seeking a motivated and experienced Anaesthetist to join their dynamic Department of Anaesthesia & Perioperative Medicine.

Salary: $216,300 – $310,389 + generous allowances + relocation + PPS incentives
  • Work in a 600-bed teaching hospital supporting a population of 250,000+
Benefits
In addition to the base salary, the following allowances and benefits may be available, subject to eligibility and applicable Award provisions:
  • Motor Vehicle Benefit:
A fully maintained, private-plated motor vehicle (for full-time appointments), or an allowance in lieu of motor vehicle currently set at $28,786 per annum (pro rata), paid fortnightly and indexed to CPI annually on 1 July. * Continuing Professional Development (CPD) Allowance:$16,974 per annum (pro rata) to support professional development activities. * Relocation Allowance:Financial support may be provided to assist with relocation expenses, subject to approval. * On-Call Allowance:A percentage of the base salary paid in accordance with the relevant Award for on-call duties. * Private Patient Scheme (PPS) Participation:Subject to approval by the PPS Committee:
  • Additional 35% of base salary plus on-call (pro rata) will be paid.
  • If not approved for PPS participation, a 35% loading in lieu of PPS (based on base salary only) will be paid.

  • Provide anaesthesia services for cardiac and general surgical cases across a diverse caseload including trauma, neuro, vascular, obstetrics and more
  • Perform and interpret transoesophageal echocardiography (TOE)
  • Participate in teaching, research, and quality improvement initiatives
  • Engage in an inclusive on-call roster
  • Collaborate with a high-performing, research-active and education-focused team
What You’ll Need:
  • Fellowship of ANZCA or equivalent (e.g. FANZCA, FRCA, FCAI)
  • Subspecialty training and experience in cardiac anaesthesia
  • Proficiency in intraoperative TOE
  • Recent tertiary hospital experience (desirable)
  • Specialist registration with AHPRA, or eligible as an IMG under the specialist pathway
