We are seeking a motivated and hands-on Assistant Winemaker to join the team at Bunnamagoo Estate Wines in Mudgee. We are a small / medium sized wine business producing award winning wines across a number of varietals and premium price points. Fruit is sourced mainly from our estate vineyards located next to our modern winery.Bunnamagoo Estate Wines is a family-owned wine business and is part of the larger Paspaley Pearling Company. We have been producing wines since the mid 1990's, and our wines are exported, sold in the domestic market as well as through a vibrant Cellar Door located at the winery in Mudgee.This role offers the opportunity to work across a range of winemaking styles and techniques, supporting mainly premium and super premium wine production. You will work closely with the Senior Winemaker, cellar team, and other locally based staff.What you will do:
- Perform all winery operations from grape processing to bottling
- Basic Laboratory analysis
- Oversee all maintenance and hygiene of the winemaking facility
- Maintain relevant records and information in the various systems
- Identify, review, and develop where required, Standard Operating Procedures (SOP's).
- Work collaboratively in the Bunnamagoo Estate wines team.We will provide on the job training, learning and professional development. You will also be part of the beautiful Mudgee region.Job Requirements Job Requirements
- Tertiary Studies in Oenology
- At least 3 years' experience working in winemaking roles.
- Strong practical skills and experience in operating cellar machinery
- A collaborative approach to working in a team
- Forklift licenses and experience
- A valid driver's license and own transport
- Vineyard experience will be highly regarded
