Requisition ID: REQ460209Applications Close: Sunday, 28th April 2024About the RoleThe Perinatal Psychologist provides advice on encouraging and considering a bio-psychosocial perspective of the family and how these factors interplay and contribute to mental health and wellbeing. The approach includes exploring attachment styles considering past and present attachment and possible impact of this on mother-baby, father-baby and mother-father as well as mother-nurse relationships, maternal reflective functioning and ‘keeping the baby in mind’. Within the role the Psychologist also assists in providing a reflective space for nurses to explore their relationship with clients.Your responsibilities will include:
- Attend multidisciplinary case review to discuss all clients.
- Attend individual case consultation.
- Develop resources to support the family.
- Undertake joint home visits with Child and Family Health Nurse.
- Help facilitate referral with the nurse/case manager to external services.
- Attend regular team meetings.
- Attend clinical supervision as per discipline requirements.
- To be successful in this role, you must be able to work well in a multidisciplinary team and embracing a strength-based approach. You must also need to be able to work Wednesdays only for Case Review meeting.
- You will be supported in your role by the SNF Clinical Coordinator and the Tresillian Family Care Centre Educator for the SNF program. You will also be able to access clinical supervision.

- Completion of an Australian Psychology Accreditation Council-accredited postgraduate clinical psychology qualification of no less than two years full-time duration or recognised equivalent, displayed on the Psychology Board of Australia website.
- An eligibility list will be created for future permanent part-time and temporary part-time vacancies.
- To be eligible for permanent employment in this position you must be an Australian Citizen, or a permanent resident of Australia, or a New Zealand citizen with a current New Zealand Passport.
