Join our team as a Wildlife Officer at our Proserpine prawn farm, where you’ll play a vital role in safeguarding our stock by managing predatory wildlife. This is a full-time contract position until the end of March 2026, offering stability and the chance to contribute to sustainable aquaculture operations.Responsibilities:

Safely and responsibly operate firearms and animal trapping devices, prioritising environmental protection and minimising risks to personnel, equipment, and stock.
Conduct regular pond inspections, monitoring prawn health, water quality, and potential contaminants.
Report and escalate significant wildlife threats to the relevant team members.
Maintain accurate records and submit weekly reports on wildlife activity and control measures.
Assist with additional farm duties as required.

Role requirements:

Current and valid firearms and animal trapping licences (essential).
Valid driver’s licence.
Basic tech proficiency (iPad use for reporting).
Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
Legal right to work in Australia.
Satisfactory National Police Check (required prior to appointment).

Role offerings:

Full-time contract position until end of March 2026.
Competitive hourly rate with an additional $360 per fortnight (pro-rata) prawn farming allowance
2/2/3 roster with a long weekend every second week
