- Conduct Assessments: Perform comprehensive assessments of patients' physical, cognitive, and emotional capabilities to determine their needs and goals for therapy.
- Develop Treatment Plans: Create and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, patient goals, and evidence-based practices.
- Deliver Therapy: Provide direct therapeutic interventions to improve patients ability to perform daily activities, including fine and gross motor skills, cognitive functions, and adaptive techniques.
- Educate Patients and Families: Offer guidance and education to patients and their families on strategies and techniques to support functional independence and manage daily tasks effectively.
- Monitor Progress: Track and document patients' progress towards their goals, making necessary adjustments to treatment plans as needed.
- Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Adhere to Protocols: Follow organisational policies, protocols, and safety guidelines to deliver high standards of care and maintain a safe therapeutic environment.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in occupational therapy or master's degree in occupational therapy is highly desirable.
- Licensure: Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist.
- Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience as an Occupational Therapist in a clinical or healthcare setting.
- Certification: Additional certifications in specialized areas of occupational therapy are advantageous.
- Vaccinations: Up-to-date with annual flu and COVID-19 vaccinations.
- Work Rights: Must have full work rights in Australia.
- Clinical Expertise: Proficiency in conducting patient assessments, developing treatment plans, and delivering therapeutic interventions.
