
Senior Project Manager | Rail Systems

- Lead and inspire teams to excel in all aspects of assigned projects, fostering collaboration innovation, and alignment with UGL project delivery standards.
- Conduct detailed reviews of project scope, budgets, schedules, and quality requirements as outlined in project handover documentation, establishing and managing project baselines within agreed timeframes.
- Collaborate with operations, lines of business, and functional teams to assemble and mobilise high-performing project teams, ensuring clear internal responsibilities for specific project deliverables.
- Rigorously apply risk and opportunity methodologies to optimise project outcomes by realising opportunities and mitigating or avoiding risks.
- Maintain regular communication and reporting with key clients to meet contractual requirements, foster collaborative relationships, and achieve project goals.
- Develop and manage project planning and management documentation in line with UGL’s project management framework, contractual requirements, and industry best practices.
- Actively participate in bid and tender efforts to ensure the operational and business capabilities are represented while reducing project risks and streamlining execution.
- Execute projects within the UGL Project Management framework, ensuring all project key performance indicators (KPIs) are achieved and continuously supporting the team to monitor and improve performance.
- Routinely review and adjust KPIs, addressing variations to maintain or improve project outcomes.
- Monitor and control financial baselines for projects, investigating variances and projecting revenue, costs, and cash flow to ensure operational and financial targets are met.
- Demonstrate knowledge and expertise in rail signaling design, signal construction, and signal design management, ensuring successful project delivery and compliance with technical requirements.
- Expertise in a similar role with experience gained in the rail industry including signalling design / construction.
- Expertise or strong interest in project control techniques, earned value management, S-curve reporting, risk and opportunity management, and project financial forecasting.
- Familiar with MS Project, Primavera P6, or equivalent scheduling software.
- Sound understanding of PMBoK, Prince2, Agile, or other appropriate project management methodology.
