They are currently seeking an experienced Accounting Officer to join the team in Camden. This is an estimated 4-month temporary assignment.Working within the Finance & Property Services Business Unit, you will ensure the efficient and timely maintenance of Section 7.11 Developer Contributions registers whilst providing assistance to customers relating to Section 7.11 calculations. The position provides assistance to the management accounting team in relation to the Annual Budget.Responsibilities
- Deliver professional customer service, answering enquiries within a timely and accurate manner
- Calculation and indexation of Section 7.11 contributions including monthly reconciliations
- Update and maintain the Contributions register
- Provide financial advice to Senior Management Team and key stakeholders
- Assist with month end processes and Quarterly Budget reviews focusing on revenue, operating expenditure and capital works
- Prepare monthly financial reports
- Monitor and update Developer Contributions Long Term Financial Plan
- Contribute to the preparation of the Annual Budget and Long Term Financial Plan
- Ensure compliance with accounting standard, best practice and legislative requirements including Environmental Planning and Assessment Regulation 2021
- Impeccable communication skills, both verbal and written
- Great work ethic with a team player attitude
- Strong computer literacy skills and proficiency with MS Office Suite, Budget Software and Civica Authority
- Advanced Excel skills
- Superior organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise conflicting deadlines
- Solid analytical, negotiation and problem-solving skills
- Demonstrated Accounting experience
- CA / CPA Qualifications or working towards
- Extensive knowledge in application of accounting principals
- Proven experience in Section 7.11 developer contributions accounting
- Local Government / Public Sector experience desirable
- Willingness to undergo a National Police Check
- Fully COVID vaccinated or medically exempt
- Ability to commence and commit to the duration of the assignment
