- Support the reactive provision of medical, scientific and technical information services to healthcare professionals, patients, consumers and internal stakeholders. Specifically, research and compile relevant, balanced and non-promotional medicine information in response to a broad range of medical enquiries received via phone, email, internet, mail, or Customer Relationship Management (CRM) software.
- Provide telephone support for in-bound enquiries from external parties and monitor the medical information email inbox and CRM database for in-bound enquiries from external and internal parties according to roster.
- Document all customer enquiries and responses in the relevant Medical Information databases as required.
- Ensure that all potential adverse events or product quality complaints are appropriately reported and followed-up according to Company procedures.
- Create and maintain local standard response documents as required for use or to supplement global standard response documents.
- Work effectively with published literature resources and search engines, including the AbbVie library, to find and provide literature upon request.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of the products within the responsibility of the Australia and New Zealand (ANZ) affiliate.
- Support, collaborate and coordinate effectively with outsource medical information provider; provide daily operational oversight as required.
- Conduct random quality control checks of outsource medical information provider responses; conduct training as required.
- Leverage de-identified medical information enquiry data to add value across the business, including to cross-functional stakeholders.
- Compile medical information metrics and provide reports on a regular basis as required.
- Adhere to company and regulatory requirements as well as relevant industry codes of practice.
- Serve as backup and support for the Medical Compassionate Access function when required.
- Bachelor of Pharmacy degree (preferred) or Bachelor of Science degree or equivalent
- Experience in the provision of drug and product information to healthcare professionals and patients or related experience.
- Strong technical writing and verbal communication skills, organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to communicate medical information to varying audiences.
- Ability to search scientific information within the literature.
- Ability to understand and analyse medical information including the scientific literature.
- Strong computer skills with MS Office applications and informational databases.
- Ability to effectively work independently, prioritise, multi-task and meet established deadlines.
- Data visualisation and analytical skills related to the production of reports detailing key metrics an advantage.
