- Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems in compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
- Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify hazards, assess risks, and implement effective controls.
- Provide expert advice and guidance to all levels of the organization on health and safety matters, promoting best practices and ensuring awareness.
- Facilitate safety training programs and toolbox talks to enhance employee awareness and competence.
- Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses, identifying root causes and recommending preventive measures.
- Collaborate with site managers and supervisors to develop and monitor safety performance indicators, fostering a proactive safety culture.
- Maintain accurate records and documentation related to safety activities, incidents, and compliance requirements.
- Stay updated with industry trends, regulations, and emerging best practices, recommending appropriate changes to existing safety protocols.
- A minimum of 18 months of experience in a similar role within the Civil Construction industry
- Strong knowledge of relevant health and safety legislation, regulations, and industry standards.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing health and safety policies, procedures, and management systems.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage and influence stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
- Proven track record of conducting risk assessments, incident investigations, and implementing corrective actions.
- Qualifications in Occupational Health & Safety or a related field (e.g., Cert IV in Work Health and Safety)
- Familiarity with Western Australia General and Mining regulations and industry-specific hazards is an advantage.
- Ability to work on an 2/1 roster, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability to changing work environments.
- Cert IV Training & Assessing (Highly Desirable)
