English TeacherNorthshore Christian Grammar School is part of the Swan Christian Education Association (SCEA), a growing network of seven Christian schools across the Perth metropolitan area. Located in the vibrant northern coastal suburb of Alkimos, Northshore is a K–12 school currently serving more than 900 students, with enrolments expected to exceed 1000 in the coming years. Staff and community surveys reflect an exceptional level of satisfaction, making Northshore a joyful and purposeful place to work.About the RoleWe are seeking an English Teacher who can confidently teach across Years 7–12, delivering the Western Australian Curriculum with excellence. The successful applicant will also have the opportunity to teach Christian Living, using SCEA’s Biblical Foundations Framework to guide students in faith-based learning. As part of a collaborative English team, you will help students grow in their ability to think critically, communicate effectively, and engage meaningfully with literature and the world around them. You will be committed to building strong, Christ-centred relationships with students, staff, and the wider community.Your Key Responsibilities:
  • Teach English across secondary year levels using varied and effective strategies that meet the diverse needs of students
  • Deliver Christian Living classes aligned with SCEA’s Biblical Foundations Framework
  • Develop, review, and implement engaging programs and assessments
  • Use data to monitor, assess, and report on student progress
  • Support students through differentiated instruction, remediation, and extension
  • Foster strong relationships with students through active pastoral care
  • Engage in regular communication with parents through diaries, interviews, and reports
  • Participate in school life, including sports carnivals, House activities, and fellowship events
  • Fulfil additional duties such as yard supervision, relief teaching, and school functions
  • Model and promote Christian character in all interactions
To be successful in this role, you will have:
  • A personal Christian faith and commitment to the Lord Jesus Christ, actively expressed through regular church attendance
  • Agreement with SCEA's Statement of Faith, Foundational Statements of Belief, and Educational Objectives, and a lifestyle that reflects these convictions
  • Demonstrated expertise in teaching both ATAR and General English
  • Passion for pastoral care and the development of the whole child
  • Strong team orientation and the ability to contribute positively to a collaborative staff culture
  • Effective communication skills with students, colleagues, and parents
  • A willingness to contribute to the broader life and mission of the School
  • TRBWA registration and a current Working with Children Check
