are looking for a Disability Research Nurse to join the team! This two year (maximum term), part time (0.8FTE) role will be based at our South Brisbane campus.Mater Research is a recognised leader in medical research. Our bench to bedside philosophy sees us working across Mater Health's hospitals and health services, The University of Queensland, and the world-class Translational Research Institute (TRI).We are committed to working closely with Mater Health, Mater Education and our growing network of partners and collaborators to turn scientific discovery into the best possible treatment, care, and outcomes for patients and our broader community.Salary: $50.11 - $56.27 per hour plus superannuation and access to not-for-profit salary packaging up to $15,900What you'll be doingThe Research Nurse is responsible for providing nurse input to projects aligned with the interests of the Mater Intellectual Disability and Autism Service.The research nurse will provide support to general practice nurses across South-East Queensland around working with patients with intellectual disability and conducting health assessments.The researcher will need to be able to work both independently and collaboratively towards meeting project goals and delivering research outputs.For more information specific to the role, please view the PD here -About youYou will be a Registered Nurse with current registration with The Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  • In-depth understanding and experience working in Australian general practice or primary care settings.
  • Knowledge of providing health assessments, preferably for people with intellectual disability or mental health.
  • Previous experience or understanding of disability or willingness to learn
  • High-level of interpersonal skills necessary for negotiating and liaising effectively with a diverse range of staff, patients, and other stakeholders
  • Proven high level organisational, problem-solving and time management skills, ability to establish priorities, with excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • High level written and oral communication skills
  • Appropriate digital literacy skills including the use of Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite, statistical analysis software, Endnote referencing tool, and NCBI Resources including PubMed
