- Leadership and Implementation: Lead the on-site implementation of WHS Management Systems, ensuring adherence to T&T's safety standards and client requirements.
- Inspections and Audits: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of construction sites, including Data Center environments, to proactively identify potential hazards and risks.
- Training and Education: Provide comprehensive safety training and education to project staff, contractors, and subcontractors, ensuring compliance with all relevant safety regulations and best practices.
- Incident Investigation: Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses thoroughly, identifying root causes and developing effective corrective and preventative actions.
- Collaboration and Integration: Collaborate closely with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate safety considerations into project planning, design, and execution.
- Data Analysis and Reporting: Review and analyze safety data and trends, identifying areas for improvement and implementing proactive safety measures to enhance overall performance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Participate actively in safety meetings and committees, contributing to the development and implementation of project-wide safety initiatives.
- Compliance and Liaison: Liaise with regulatory authorities, external stakeholders, and clients to ensure full compliance with all applicable safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
- Emergency Response: Lead emergency response and crisis management activities, including developing, maintaining
- A relevant degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering, or a related field.
- Highly Desirable: Certifications such as a Construction Safety Certificate, Certified Safety Professional (CSP), or equivalent.
- Demonstrable experience in a safety role within the construction industry, specifically focusing on Data Center and/or General Construction projects.
- Proven experience with large-scale construction projects is essential.
- Experience working with Principal Contractor safety requirements is highly advantageous
- Construction Safety Regulations: A comprehensive understanding of Australian safety regulations, standards (e.g., AS/NZS 4801, relevant codes of practice), and best practices applicable to the construction industry, with specific emphasis on Data Center and General Construction environments.
- Hazard Identification and Risk Assessment: Expertise in hazard identification, risk assessment methodologies, and the implementation of effective control measures.
- Technical Proficiency: Proficiency in using safety management systems, incident reporting software (e.g., Vault, SiteDocs), and other relevant software tools.
- Equipment and Technologies: Familiarity with the range of safety equipment and technologies commonly used in construction projects, including those specific to Data Center environments (e.g., confined space entry, electrical safety, critical infrastructure protection).
- Communication and Leadership: Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) to effectively communicate safety policies, procedures, and training to project staff and stakeholders. Strong leadership skills to influence safety culture and motivate others to prioritize safety.
- Problem-Solving and Analysis: The ability to identify and analyze safety risks, incidents, and trends, developing practical and effective solutions to mitigate risks and improve safety performance.
- Attention to Detail: A keen eye for detail to conduct thorough safety inspections, audits, and investigations. Ability to identify potential hazards and risks and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
- Collaboration and Relationship Building: The ability to work collaboratively with project managers, engineers, contractors, subcontractors, and other stakeholders.
- Adaptability and Flexibility: The ability to adapt to changing project requirements and priorities and to work effectively in a fast-paced construction environment.
