As a Senior Building Consultant, you will be the go-to expert for conducting in-depth building inspections, analysing defects, and developing robust remedial strategies. You’ll work on a diverse range of residential high-rise and low-rise projects, liaise with clients, guide junior consultants, and ensure exceptional project outcomes.Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct thorough building inspections to identify causes of damage from design faults, defective construction, or maintenance issues.
  • Analyse causation and develop practical remediation strategies.
  • Prepare comprehensive building inspection reports.
  • Develop detailed remedial Scopes of Work.
  • Monitor and report on repair works, ensuring compliance with approved Scopes.
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships through professional and timely communication.
  • Mentor and guide junior consultants to foster professional growth and technical excellence.
  • Balance multiple assignments while achieving client and financial outcomes.
Skills and Attributes
  • Minimum 8 years’ experience in the building and construction industry, with a focus on residential high-rise and low-rise projects.
  • Expertise in defect analysis and water intrusion investigations.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Standards, the NCC, and industry best practice.
  • Experience in remedial consultancy (highly desirable).
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Building, Construction, or Engineering.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a track record in team development.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong time management, resilience, and a proactive, solution-focused approach.
  • Professional demeanour and a commitment to excellence.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and project management tools.
