Are you an experienced Clinical Coder or Health Information Manager looking for a better work-life balance or new challenges? All suitable candidates are encouraged to apply.About the rolesThe Clinical Coder reports to the Manager, Clinical Coding Service CALHN for:
  • Timely and accurate translation of medical and procedural terminology into International Classification of Diseases (Current Edition) Australian Modification (ICD-10-AM) and Australian Classification for Health Interventions (ACHI), for use in statistical analysis, epidemiology, hospital planning, research, and the auditing of quality of patient care. Fully experienced and qualified coders contribute significantly to the assignment of Australian Refined Diagnosis Related Groups (AR-DRGs) upon which Activity Based Funding and case mix for inpatients are dependent.
  • Coding CALHN's case mix which may include more complex and intricate matters due to our placement as the largest public health network in South Australia.
QualificationsSatisfactory completion of the Health Information Management Association of Australia (HIMAA) coding course or equivalent, together with demonstrated competency in ICD-10-AM coding.ASO Level will be determined based on a successful candidate's experience, training and demonstrated abilities.About CALHNThe Central Adelaide Local Health Network includes South's Australia's major quaternary facility, the Royal Adelaide Hospital, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital, the Hampstead Rehabilitation Centre, and the Repat Health Precinct.
