These include undergraduate and postgraduate programs in dentistry, medicine, dental hygiene, dental technology and dental prosthetics, paramedicine, and public health.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a dedicated and passionate Lecturer (Teaching Focused) in Clinical Education to join our collaborative and innovative team.This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified medical professional with a strong interest in education to contribute meaningfully to the learning and development of the next generation of medical practitioners. You will play a key role in the design, delivery, coordination, and continuous improvement of learning and assessment activities within our Doctor of Medicine (MD) program.As a Teaching Focused academic, your primary focus will be on delivering high-quality, student-centred learning experiences, while also engaging in scholarly and service activities that support the School’s educational mission.Key Responsibilities
- Develop and deliver engaging, innovative, and evidence-based clinical education content for the Doctor of Medicine program.
- Act as a course convenor and contribute to academic leadership and curriculum development.
- Support high-quality learning outcomes through technology-enhanced and authentic learning practices.
- Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports student success and well-being.
- Participate in scholarly activities and contribute to a culture of continuous improvement in medical education.
The part-time equivalent base salary for a 40% FTE at the Academic Lecturer (Level B) ranges from $45,290 - $53,784 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total part-time package will range from $52,989 - $62,927.The part-time equivalent base salary for a 20% FTE at the Academic Lecturer (Level B) ranges from $22,645 - $26,892 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total part-time package will range from $26,494 - $31,463.In addition, a clinical or dental loading may be applied to clinically qualified candidates, on a pro-rata basis.QualificationsThe successful candidate will possess:
- A medical degree from a recognised educational institution.
- A doctoral or master's qualification in a relevant field, and/or significant progress towards a doctoral degree, or professional fellowship.
- Registration (or eligibility for registration) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (Ahpra).
- Demonstrated experience teaching in undergraduate or postgraduate medical programs.
- A commitment to student-focused education and the ability to engage students in active and applied learning.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with a strong sense of professionalism and integrity.
