  • Assist in managing Council's property portfolio
The opportunityIn this role, you will support the Coordinator Property & Insurance in managing Hobsons Bay City Council’s diverse property portfolio, including acquisitions, disposals, leasing, and licensing of Council-owned and managed land. You will ensure agreements are compliant and up to date, provide property advice to internal and external stakeholders, and contribute to strategic planning, policy development, and process improvements. This is an opportunity to apply your property expertise in a role that directly enhances community outcomes.What you'll do
  • Manage Council’s property portfolio, including tenure reviews, agreements, acquisitions, disposals, and strategic recommendations
  • Support property transactions and documentation, including auctions, tenders, and statutory processes for road discontinuances
  • Develop and implement property strategies, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance and operational efficiency
  • Provide research, analysis, and accurate property data to support planning, budgeting, and asset management activities
  • Engage with internal and external stakeholders, offering guidance on leasing, licensing, and property-related enquiries
  • Oversee lease and licence administration, insurance coverage, rent collection, and debtor management for Council properties
What you’ll need:
  • Hold tertiary qualifications in property administration or a related discipline
  • Apply expertise in Property & Insurance systems, GIS, and Land Victoria platforms including E-Titles
  • Manage property administration tasks including rent reviews, valuations, and legal documentation
  • Interpret property titles, leases, licences, and subdivision plans with accuracy
  • Prepare business cases and Council reports for land acquisition and disposal
  • Communicate effectively, work independently and collaboratively, and engage stakeholders to support property decisions
