With multiple sites and operations nationwide, the business is experiencing sustained growth and is now looking to expand its Payroll Team.About the Role
Reporting to the National HR Leader, with a dotted line to Finance, this is a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned payroll professional to take ownership of national payroll operations. Based in Sydney CBD, the role offers a hybrid working model (four days in-office, one day from home).This is a hands-on, standalone role suited to someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys working autonomously, and is passionate about accuracy, compliance, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include:
- Managing and processing multiple payrolls across various frequencies, ensuring accuracy and timeliness
- Interpreting enterprise agreements, awards, and company policies to ensure correct employee payments
- Maintaining accurate records of pay transactions, leave balances, staff movements, and WorkCover payments
- Performing complex payroll calculations including leave accruals, superannuation, redundancy, and tax
- Investigating and resolving discrepancies, including processing back payments when required
- Supporting compliance and reporting requirements including headcount, staff movement, leave liability, and FBT reports
- Assisting with month-end reporting, reconciliations, and general ledger activities
This role is ideal for a confident and detail-oriented payroll professional with:
- 5+ years’ experience in a standalone or senior payroll role, ideally within a complex, multi-site organisation
- Proven experience in end-to-end payroll processing and payroll system management
- Strong understanding of Australian payroll legislation, taxation, superannuation, and award interpretation
- High attention to detail, excellent numerical and analytical skills
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a customer-focused mindset
- Experience using MicrOpay is highly desirable
