The Commissioner is responsible for providing strategic leadership across key cross border issues through:
- Forging key partnerships and facilitating collaboration across jurisdictions, Inter and intra government agencies, key business and community stakeholders with an explicit focus on achieving outcomes.
- Publicly engaging with businesses, community members and stakeholders to identify key crossborder issues affecting South Australians, advising the Government and working across agencies to address those issues.
- Working strategically with all tiers of government and industry sectors to ensure the needs of cross border communities are considered in the development and implementation of key policy, procedures and legislation.
- Facilitating better access to services for Cross Border communities by working with other jurisdictions and service providers to improve planning and access to a services spanning across the education, justice, health and community services sectors.
- Identifying key barriers for economic development and advocating to support jobs growth and labour mobility in border regions.
- The Incumbent will be required to participate in the department's Performance Management Program.
- The Incumbent may be assigned to another position at this remuneration level or equivalent.
- Some work outside of normal hours will be required. This may involve evening or weekend work including occasional overnight travel.
- Some interstate travel involving overnight absences will be required.
- This role requires a National Criminal History check.
- Demonstrated experience and understanding with Cross Border issues.
- Positioned in or willing to relocate to a Cross Border community.
- Possession of a current drivers licence and willingness to drive is essential.
