- Provide support to the team in managing our regulatory compliance program in Australia, including:
- Monitor and manage compliance with AFSL obligations Advise the business on day-to-day compliance related matters Assist in the review and submission of reconciliations and regulatory reports
- Liaise with compliance officers globally on business activities conducted across different countries
- Provide advice on new products and new business structures
- Manage internal compliance operational controls and carry out assessments as required
- Monitor services provider SLAs and provide feedback where neededHandle regulatory inquiries
- Handle bankruptcy requests, deceased estate requests and Centrelink cases
- Handle internal and external escalated disputes including AFCA liaison
- Perform compliance assessments of digital assets
- Assist with third party due diligence processes
- Review marketing materials
- Review and advise on escalated financial crime cases
- Develop and maintain compliance policies and procedures
- Assist in updating the compliance program and work plan on a regular basis
- Update the business on regulatory changes
- Support reviews, audits and inspections from external parties, including regulators, and ensuring relevant findings are remediated appropriately
- Support preparation of management and board reporting that includes insights and analysis based on industry-leading knowledge of regulatory compliance topics
- Assist in responses to industry consultations on digital asset regulation
- Assist in handling various compliance projects
- Ensure staff adherence to company policies and procedures
- Promote compliance awareness and provide compliance training where needed
- Perform duties and provide support as 2IC for the Australian compliance team
- Carry out other compliance related duties as instructed by VP Regulatory Compliance from time to time
- Stay up-to-date with the current regulatory landscape and compliance requirements of the cryptocurrency industry
- A minimum of 10 years' experience in financial services compliance
- Bachelor's degree and RG146 complianceACAMS certification preferred
- Working knowledge of AFSL obligations, derivatives compliance and associated reporting
- Leadership and management skills including experience managing a team
- Familiarity with ASIC and AUSTRAC requirements a must
- Familiarity with RBA and APRA requirements preferred
- Knowledge of the applicable contemporary practices in the field of Compliance, including but not limited to understanding of regulatory matters regarding AFSL and AML legislative and regulatory requirements
- Ability to read, analyse and interpret applicable legislation in the field of financial services/technologies.
- Ability to write briefs, reports and business correspondence
- Strong presentation and verbal communication skills to liaise with people at all levels both inside and outside the organisation
- Team player, self-motivated, dependable, adaptable and detail-oriented individual with analytical, writing and organisational skills required
- Excellent time management skills and ability to manage deadlines
- Ability to prioritise and act fast Ability to work well under pressure and to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Ability to pick up new ideas and concepts quickly
- Crypto and blockchain knowledge is highly desirable and an interest in cryptocurrency and the fintech ecosystem in a must
- Advanced computer literacy including computer skills such as regulatory portals, CRM, spreadsheets, powerpoint and word processing
- An inquiring mind and methodical approach with high attention to detail
